Enova Improving Lives Through Charitable Giving
CHICAGO (August 31, 2012) – Enova International’s philanthropic and charitable giving program, “Enova Gives,” hit full stride this summer delivering more than $50,000 in financial resources to local charities in the Chicagoland area. In addition to financial contributions, 36 Enova associates and interns volunteered their personal time to support Enova Gives initiatives. Enova Gives most established philanthropic program is with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Chicago, where the company is a BBBS corporate partner and Enova President Tim Ho serves on the BBBS board of directors. For four years, the company has operated an on-site mentoring program that helps children in need reach their full potential by providing one-to-one volunteer support from Enova associates. Enova’s “bigs” meet with their BBBS “littles” every other Wednesday at Enova headquarters from 4 to 5:30 p.m. during the academic year.
Another important relationship for Enova Gives is a partnership with the Illinois Education Foundation (IEF) which began in 2010. The IEF focuses on broadening the opportunities available for Illinois community college students who come from low-income households but who have high academic potential. Each year Enova sponsors five student scholarships. The program provides students with academic, professional, personal and financial support to encourage their success in the classroom and beyond. By providing last-dollar scholarships and student support services, students are encouraged to reach their full potential in school, in work, and in life.
In addition, Enova Gives has become an active participant in A Safe Haven and the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago, two successful Chicago charities supporting children, veterans and others in need.
“An important part of running a corporation today is being a good neighbor to the community around you.” says Enova President Tim Ho. “We are especially excited to support organizations that help young people achieve their best when faced with unexpected situations and adversity.”
Enova is always looking for opportunities to make a positive impact through strategic philanthropic and charitable giving, especially in its hometown of Chicago. Inquiries can be sent to mgilhooly@enova.com.
