Since 1994, A Safe Haven has offered homeless and underprivileged individuals in Chicago the opportunity to get back on their feet, providing invaluable services like housing, food, drug and alcohol treatment, health care and job training. For the fourth year in a row, A Safe Haven hosted the RUN! To End Homelessness in Chicago. In addition to providing sponsorship, Enova organized 25 employees to run in the race, from interns all the way up to Enova CEO David Fisher.

The day began with a 7:30 a.m. Zumba session to get the blood flowing. When the starting gun fired at 8:00 a.m., over 500 competitors made their way through the 5K course in North Lawndale’s Douglas Park, and afterwards enjoyed live music, cold drinks and a cookout.

“The A Safe Haven 5K RUN! To End Homelessness has become a key event within the Chicago volunteer landscape,” says A Safe Haven co-founder, Neli Vazquez-Rowland. “Enova plays a vital role in the success of the RUN!, not only as a sponsor, but as a participant as well. Their participation has increased each year, an indication of their passion for helping individuals overcome homelessness and achieve self-sufficiency in our community.”
