How Enova Helps Me Give Back: Building Community, Culture and Purpose

Giving back to my community is one of the most meaningful ways to spend my time and resources. Whether donating, volunteering or advocating for causes I care about, giving back has become integral to my life. At Enova, I’ve found a company that values giving back—both within our organization and in the communities we live.

Building Community at Enova and Beyond

Enova’s culture is grounded in the belief that we can achieve more when we work together. The company supports employees in their efforts to give back and fosters a spirit of collective contribution that strengthens our internal culture and the communities we serve.

When team members volunteer or participate in charitable events, they make a difference in others’ lives and create a positive and supportive environment within Enova. These shared experiences build camaraderie, strengthen relationships and promote a culture of compassion and teamwork. The opportunity to give back is woven into the very fabric of our workplace.

Enova’s Programs Help Me Support What Matters Most

Enova makes it easy to support causes that matter to me, especially those that impact my local community. Through the charitable match program, Enova doubles the impact of my donations, and volunteer days offer the flexibility to dedicate time to causes I’m passionate about. Knowing that my company supports my giving back is empowering.

One example I’m especially proud of is how my colleagues voted to support Chicago Tool Library as the second-place winner in Enova’s You Decide, Enova Gives program. This was rewarding because it allowed my colleagues to support an organization I genuinely care about. The library provides tools to residents who may not have the financial means to purchase them, allowing people to complete essential projects that improve their homes and communities. Knowing that my colleagues voted to support this cause amplified its impact and gave me a sense of connection and pride—both in my company and the cause I’m passionate about.

For background, the You Decide, Enova Gives program allows Enova team members to nominate an organization they have donated to within the last six months. The entire organization will then have the opportunity to vote for the nonprofit they think should receive a donation from Enova.

Volunteer Opportunities: Strengthening Teamwork and Camaraderie

One of the most rewarding aspects of giving back at Enova is engaging in team-based volunteer activities. Our work with Cradles to Crayons in Chicago, where we pack backpacks with school supplies, allows us to work together outside our usual projects. These volunteer events strengthen our relationships and foster a sense of unity and shared purpose. This volunteer event is held across all U.S. offices, and the backpacks are donated to local communities. 

The teamwork that results from these activities is fulfilling. It reminds us that we’re not just colleagues at work but partners in improving our communities. Volunteering as a team boosts morale and helps create a positive, collaborative environment where everyone feels they’re contributing to something greater.

Whether helping pack backpacks as a team or volunteering alone, giving back makes me feel connected to something bigger than myself. It’s not just about ticking off a to-do list; it’s about meaningfully impacting others’ lives.
