Enova Looks for Talent at 2014 INFORMS

The INFORMS Conference is considered by many to be one of the top business analytics and operations conferences in the country, with experts from all around the world in attendance. Enova has made attending the INFORMS Conference a top priority for years, focusing both on the innovations of those in attendance, as well as the recruiting opportunities, with a host of top talent eager to shake hands.

This year was especially exciting, as Hakan K., one of Enova’s credit risk analytics senior associates, was a guest speaker on one of the conference’s breakfast panels. He discussed the skill sets that the Enova analytics team looks for in potential new hires. Hakan also staffed the job fair booth.

“The booth at the pre-conference job fair got a lot of positive interest from potential recruits,” says Hakan. “This conference is huge from a recruiting standpoint, because there’s so many talented young people. INFORMS is actually how I discovered Enova, back in 2012.”

“We like to say that we’re looking for analysts with talent in four key areas: statistical modeling, programming experience, optimization and a good sense of business. While this is true, it’s a little closer to the truth to say that we’re looking for people who have that specific focus, but also have a big picture view of analytics. INFORMS is a great place to find these people.”
