Data Smackdown Returns in 2023

Are you seeking a 2023 Summer Internship in the data analytics space, and expected to graduate from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program between Winter 2023-Spring 2024? If so, come join us for our upcoming event!

Enova will be inviting students from local universities to our office on February 9 to compete with their peers in the 6th annual data analytics competition — a.k.a. The Data Smackdown. The event allows teams of internship-seeking analysts to compete and see who can come up with the best method and results. The event will start at 4:00 P.M. CT. and is expected to last until 9:00 P.M. CT.
Enova’s Analytics team uses data analysis techniques and modeling methodologies to boost decision-making processes, helping to increase profitability and improve the customer experience. The Data Smackdown offers students an opportunity to see how analytics can be applied in the case of real-world data analysis.
Teams of one to four people will compete against each other, analyzing a data set in a business case. Be sure to bring a laptop, power cords and your student ID. And don’t worry about food; dinner is on Enova!
After check-in, the rules of the Smackdown will be defined, and each team of one to four people will be presented with their data set. You and your team will work to analyze the data and make recommendations. Work must be finished within the room to remain in the competition. At the end of the evening, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will be awarded with cash prizes, and the 1st place team will win an automatic final round interview for our competitive internship this summer!
Students can register in full teams or individually and request to be paired with other students looking to be on a team.
