Years at Enova: 13
Starting Year: 2010

Can you share what brought you to Enova?

I moved from India to the U.S. to pursue a Master’s in Quantitative Finance at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As I approached graduation, I connected with alumni to understand their career paths and explore opportunities. One conversation with an analytics manager at Enova introduced me to the complexities of online lending, particularly unsecured loans for underbanked individuals. This discussion not only led to an onsite interview but also sparked a lasting interest in consumer lending and risk management.

Can you discuss some of the roles you’ve held here and how your responsibilities have changed?

I joined Enova in August 2010 as an analyst on our Business Analytics team. Enova was a much smaller company back then, and we worked across teams and departments as needs arose. As a result, I frequently worked on projects spanning from marketing analytics, fraud analytics, finance, and strategy and operations. The learning curve was steep, and the experience made me a better analyst. In March of 2013, I decided to gain experience at a more traditional bank; however, I missed working on new business opportunities and the collaborative culture at Enova. In October of 2014, I returned to Enova. By then, some changes had been made within the analytics organization, and a Portfolio Analytics team had formed. This team was tasked with owning underwriting for each product and answering strategic questions for the P&L using data analyses. I returned to lead the UK Portfolio Analytics team with the aim of building my technical and model-building skills. After a while, I joined the US consumer products team, striving to contribute individually and develop my managerial skills by guiding analysts on my teams and across the department. As I’ve progressed through my career at Enova, I’ve had opportunities to learn new aspects of our business, acquire new skills and help each stakeholder make decisions that prioritize our Customer First value. Today, as a Senior Director of Portfolio Analytics, Fraud Analytics and Fraud Operations, I lead a team of data scientists and analysts who oversee credit and fraud risk across all our consumer products. Enova’s commitment to its people and the value of ownership have allowed me to carve out my own unique journey within the organization.

What projects are you most proud of, and why?

I’ve had the pleasure of working with and learning from, several talented individuals in analytics and across other departments. There are several projects that I am extremely proud of, but there are a couple key projects that come to mind:

    1. The launch of the line of credit product in Alabama was a significant project that involved a cross-team effort, providing me with valuable business exposure. This initiative underscored the importance of collaboration and offered a comprehensive experience in product development, from initial planning to post-launch analysis. Being involved in every stage of the process, including presenting to executives, was particularly rewarding. It was satisfying to see the product perform as expected after its release, meeting our business goals and customer needs.
    1. Another major project was the cross-functional initiative to build and implement a Unit Economic framework across our products. This project was pivotal in setting more accurate targets for measuring credit risk and identifying opportunities to expand our underwriting criteria.. The framework provided a holistic view of our product portfolio, enhancing our strategic decision-making capabilities.
