Anniversary Series: Joseph Banks

As Enova celebrates its 20th Anniversary, we will share stories from some of our most tenured team members to highlight their contributions and reflect on the company’s journey.

Name: Joseph Banks
Years at Enova: 19
Starting Year: 2005

What were your first impressions when you started, and how have they evolved over time?

When I first started, we were simply “CashNetUSA”. My first impression was that the company was small (less than 50 people) and I wondered how long the company would last. From the outset, leadership preached compliance. They communicated to us that strong compliance would lead to longevity. I thought that was impressive because that meant leadership was in it for the long haul and committed to winning the right way. 20 years later and we’re not just still here, we’re continuing to grow.

What is your favorite Enova Value and why? Has it changed over the years?

Operate as an Owner, because if you don’t do it, who will?

What projects are you most proud of, and why?

I’m most proud of working with the Director of Process Development on portal testing when it was first released. I also automated a significant portion of our bankruptcy processes, which changed how our team worked.

What are your favorite events or traditions here?

The DEI events that celebrate worldwide culture are my favorite events! As a member of the DEI Council, it’s awesome to see the diverse groups that show up to these events. As far as traditions go, I’m big on recognizing high performers, and the Operations Rock Star Award is a tradition I look forward to.

What are you most excited about for the future of Enova?

I’m excited about the continued growth driven by Enova’s products. Enova started as a short-term lender and we now offer multiple types of products to both consumers and small businesses.
