Name: David Dirzo
Years at Enova: 17
Starting Year: 2007

What were your first impressions when you started, and how have they evolved over time?

In 2007, the digital landscape was less saturated, and the concept of online lending was cutting-edge. Joining CashNetUSA as a rookie in the consumer lending industry, my initial impressions were a mix of excitement and eagerness to begin the challenge of navigating a steep learning curve. I was captivated by Enova’s young, innovative spirit and the potential of digital platforms to revolutionize financial services.

Over the years, my career has progressed through various roles, from Customer Service to Operations, and then UK Compliance, before finding my place in US Compliance. My current focus is on Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM). Each role has imparted valuable insights and skills, fostering my growth both personally and professionally.

This year, as we celebrate Enova’s 20th anniversary, my initial excitement has evolved into immense pride. Enova’s commitment to innovation and growth has been inspiring, and I am thrilled to be part of its journey. Looking ahead, I am excited about the new possibilities and challenges that promise to be just as exhilarating as the ones we’ve already conquered. Here’s to the next chapter of innovation and success!

What have been the most significant changes in the company since you joined in 2007?

Since my tenure at Enova began, I’ve witnessed remarkable changes that have shaped our trajectory. One pivotal shift was our transition from startup roots to a publicly traded entity—a milestone that underscored our ability to compete with industry leaders. But our evolution didn’t stop there. We’ve significantly diversified our offerings, expanding beyond our initial focus on consumer short-term lending as CashNetUSA. Now, we provide installment loans and lines of credit through multiple brands, serving not only individual consumers but also small businesses. Moreover, strategic partnerships with banks have played a crucial role in enhancing our services and propelling our growth.

What projects are you most proud of, and why?

I’ve been part of many projects. The ones I’m most proud of involved collaboration with colleagues from different teams. These projects opened our minds, broke down walls, and sparked new ideas. By joining forces, we’ve reached new levels and strengthened our commitment to growing talent and teamwork at Enova.

How would you describe the culture at Enova?

As I reflect on my time here, I realize that Enova is more than just an awesome place to work—it’s a community where growth is nurtured, diversity is celebrated and inclusivity is lived. It’s where I’ve not only witnessed my own development but also observed Enova’s unwavering commitment to its customers, employees, stakeholders and innovation.

Any advice for new hires starting their journey with us?

Embrace change as an opportunity! Change is inevitable, especially in the dynamic world of online lending. Rather than resisting it, view each shift as a chance to learn, adapt and grow. Whether it’s a new role, technology, or process, approach it with curiosity and a positive mindset.
