This was an amazing 10-week journey for me as a Portfolio Analytics intern at Enova. I not only had a great learning experience but also a fun life here. In terms of my projects, I worked on the Direct Mail team to analyze marketing effectiveness and overlap population. The whole DM team was so supportive along the way and helped me to understand business goals, concepts and technical details so that I could quickly pick up everything I needed to scope out my projects and build actionable solutions. My team even helped me to deploy part of my project into production, which instantly started generating business impacts. I have so many great moments to reflect on and no words can describe how grateful I am to my team, my "buddy" and everyone I met here at Enova!

This summer, I had the opportunity to join the Site Reliability Engineering team. My first few weeks consisted of taking the baseline courses where I learned Ruby and Rails, as well as SRE-specific training about all the tools, services and infrastructure. Once training was complete, I started working on the main project of expanding the functionality of an internal production-incident management tool. We were able to reduce the time it takes from the time a production incident starts to getting the proper people in a call to find a solution. It was extremely rewarding to be involved in a project from the initial stages all the way to completion. My internship experience at Enova was fantastic thanks to the amazing people and culture.

My experience as a Software Engineering intern at Enova was incredibly valuable. First, we spent two weeks at Baseline getting familiar with Go and the internal code review processes at Enova. Then, I was embedded in Loan Application Services, where myself and another intern spent the summer creating a new backend API used by multiple brand services. I gained experience with provisioning AWS servers, setting up a deployment pipeline and producing reliable backend code that is heavily unit tested. It was also awesome to get practical experience working in an agile environment, which was completely new to me. Getting to deploy our project to production was so satisfying.

Working at Enova for my 10-week internship was an incredible experience. I was a part of the Business Intelligence team and received great mentorship throughout the experience. Once I completed a training program and learned more about Enova, I kick-started with my project to build a competitor-analysis workbench. I wrote queries in PostgreSQL and Snowflake, and created an eXtensible reporting model in MicroStrategy. In this short tenure, I gained technical knowledge as well as key business and organizational skills. I learned a lot about Enova and took on full ownership of my project. Enova highly stands behind its core values and tagline, “Work Someplace Awesome.”

Throughout the internship, I gained hands-on experience in the general deployment process, writing production-level code and working with agile development. The internship experience started with the two-week Baseline program consisting of Git, Go and Vue, which were applicable to our project. For the remaining eight weeks, I worked with another intern to produce a full-stack email archive reader app in the Data Engineering team. It was a great learning experience working with new technologies on a professional level. Moreover, I enjoyed Enova’s work culture and collaborative work environment in the hybrid setting. I am grateful for the opportunity to intern at Enova this summer developing skills as a software engineer.

This summer, I had the opportunity to work at Enova as a Software Engineer intern. I was first put into a baseline program to learn about the technology that we would be using throughout the internship. After that, I was put into a group with two other people to work on the project for the next eight weeks. Throughout the internship, I learned invaluable skills such as what it takes to create a usable product from start to finish. Enova gives you the opportunity to take on real work that will give you an actual experience you can use for the rest of your career. The culture at Enova was the best part of the internship. Everyone was more than happy to help you with any problem you may have along the way.

For my summer internship, I worked on the Portfolio Analytics team for NetCredit. My project was to identify segments of new customers who can be auto-approved in order to increase the issue rate of loans and improve operational efficiency. From selecting inputs for my model to coming up with recommendations, I had an opportunity to act as an owner and experience the life cycle of an analytics project from start to finish. My project was very relevant to the current state of business, so I felt like I was making an impact with my role. In addition to the technical and business acumen I gained, I got to network with many different people at Enova through regular check-in meetings. I truly enjoyed my internship experience and would like to thank all my team members who supported me throughout the 10 weeks!

This summer, I had the opportunity to work as a Strategy and Operations intern on the NetCredit team. I enjoyed my time during this internship because I was able to work on multiple projects that had a direct impact on the business and our customers. Through my analysis of call volume, I was able to find areas of improvement to help refine the customer interface and lower inbound contact points. I also mapped out all outbound automated emails to show a full picture of our customer touchpoints within that channel. Both of these projects allowed for better insight for the team and pointed to areas where further efficiency could be met. Overall, the NetCredit team and my fellow interns were a huge part in my success during my internship. Thank you again to everyone that helped make this internship great!

This past summer, I was given the opportunity to become one of the first SRE interns! I was initially nervous, but that feeling went away during the first two weeks after meeting the amazing team and going through onboarding and the baseline exercises. I got along with the team super well because we all shared similar interests. My main project was to integrate PagerDuty with the EIM Slack app by adding more slash commands. As part of TechOps, we also handled operational tasks by shadowing others with ticket work and then working on them ourselves once we learned the basics. Overall, this was an amazing experience in which I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience, and also took part in fun activities with the other interns. I can truly say I worked someplace awesome!

Through my summer at Enova, I was able to realistically experience what it would be like to work in software engineering. We started the internship with a two-week training period which made it a lot easier to jump into our project. The project itself was extremely rewarding and I gained invaluable skills and experience. I was surprised by how much we were able to accomplish in just eight weeks. Overall, my summer at Enova was extremely enjoyable. Enova has an amazing company culture that makes it a very supportive and fun place to work.

This summer, I had the opportunity to join the SMB team as a Portfolio Analytics intern. Over the course of 10 weeks, I built a conversion model for our OnDeck brand to predict the probability that an application would result in a booked loan. My goal was to increase originations by using the model output to prioritize applications sent to the loan processing team for manual review. It was an amazing opportunity to harness my data-wrangling skills, explore new model-building techniques, and develop a business strategy in the real world. In addition to the fantastic project experience, I am so grateful to have worked on such a welcoming and collaborative team and to have connected with so many skilled and supportive individuals at Enova. Thank you again to everyone who helped make my internship experience great.

This summer, I had the opportunity to work with the Customer Insights Analytics team. My first project involved developing a query using PostgreSQL and Snowflake SQL, as well as building an automated MicroStrategy Workbench. It was so exciting to see my project through and witness the positive impacts on the business. My second project involved more ad-hoc analysis to understand the relationship between customers' channel interactions and DGM values. I was able to apply my statistical skills to real-life data analysis. During my internship, I learned key business skills and marketing concepts and studied new technologies and softwares, including Git, MicroStrategy and Jenkins. Most importantly, my team and the colleagues have always been friendly, helpful and supportive. I am so grateful for this opportunity to work as an Analytics intern at Enova. It was an amazing and invaluable experience!

My summer with Enova was definitely one to remember. I was on the LAS team and my project consisted of working with AWS Lambda and PostgreSQL in order to maintain and update a database containing useful data and information using Go. It all seemed very scary at first, but I was fully supported by my team and my peers. Before this experience, I had never worked with Go but our baseline training was very good and left me fully comfortable with the new language. I loved meeting all the other interns and I've definitely made some good friends through Enova.

Overall, this internship was an excellent experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat — not only for the knowledge I developed, but also for the people and culture. My summer project focused on the utilization of AWS Lambdas to update our customer banking information databases. We developed a foundation of knowledge for the summer project with Go and PostgreSQL through Baseline. The project had a big impact — it acted as an internal service that simplified and optimized maintenance of customer routing-number information.

My internship with Enova gave me the opportunity to work with an amazing community of inspiring professionals. While I was working on the Fraud Analytics team, I took ownership of building a model to detect fraudulent NetCredit loan applications. Near the end of the internship, I was able to implement my model in real time, and with the help of FraudOps, catch some fraudsters. For me, this really brought my project to life and made the internship experience that much better. Over the past 10 weeks, I have taken away invaluable skills, made great connections and had tons of fun.

The internship experience at Enova was the best intern experience I have ever had. My project was about product improvement analysis for the OnDeck LOC, which includes developing shared knowledge about the product, understanding customers’ needs and behaviors, building queries to track performance and making recommendations for future improvement. I enjoyed this project so much and I am so glad that I could deliver useful data for my team. People across Enova are all amiable and willing to share things with me. I have received a lot of valuable thoughts either to help my internship or my future career development. I feel grateful for having this wonderful opportunity and I will cherish this internship for many years.
